Elementalist still worth a shot?
Hello everyone. I am really considering making for me an Ele to play the game AND get the titles in this game, the thing is, since everywhere I go all I see is people really unhappy with elementalists damage in game (HM) I have a question:
Is Elementalist still viable to play endgame area? Please, I know I should play with what I like and I know how cool Elementalists are but the question here is more about being able to ACTUALLY GET A GROUP in things like DoA, UW and FoW specially after the "bug correction" at Sliver Armor Skill and also about if he can still make a good amount of money for himself. Since now sorry for the lame english and thanks for all the answers |

That's just like saying sweets are still cool... only that they don't taste sweet anymore.
So yeah, eles kinda lost their meaning and are no good for anything these days. With their one role gone and their secondary support role non-existent... I wouldn't make an ele. They're nothing interesting and not on their list of things to "fix"/"buff" as the mesmer, ranger and dervish. Make one of those and wait for a buff from Santa ANet. |

Sure, elementalists are still wanted in end-game areas. Most of the time there are a few elementalists in such groups that coordinate and execute spikes with fire skills like searing flames, rodgort's invocation and meteor shower after a different character balls up all the enemies. Elementalist is my main and I've had no problems so far getting into end-game content groups. However, the elementalist is not a necessary component of end-game area groups; they can be replaced by mesmers or necromancers most of the time.
As for getting titles: my ele is my main and title hunter (currently at 29 3/4 titles). Most of the titles were gotten using my ele as an E/A Assassin's Promise caller for my discord team. The sad fact is that when an ele is the only ele in a team, damage from his own skills is greatly surpassed by damage from pve-only skills, especially coupled with assassin's promise to recharge those skills. I do, however, find it very fun to play with friends who are also main elementalists with actual elementalist builds. |

I don't find my main Ranger particularly useful either in HM endgame, but with a guild or allianceparty, most of the time anything goes.
Of course, if you want to run the cookie-cutter builds asked by SC Pugs nowadays, yes, then your Ele would be undesirable. |

yes, ele's are fine to run. their dmg is still pretty high compared to other professions. they can still be used in some high-end areas, like DoA spikes.

My main is an ele.....tbh I do not really use her for end game content out side of running ER occasionaly. My necro, rit, sin, and even para see more high end action then my main.

Don't be fooled, eles are still viable to use. They are in fact easy to use.
And yes, even for HM they will do just fine... I am getting tired of this anti-ele beating by alot of people. I will not argue about whether or not they are the most damaging profession or not, but they are good and capable enough to deal with entire HM of the game. Stop the whining about eles for gods sake... They are good enough. |

Ether Renewal healers are a very viable position in endgame PvE.
